Thanked: 0Hello from Florida
I'm new to straight razors, but I have been shaving with single edge razors (1912 Gem, and a 1914 Eveready) for quite awhile.
I have two straights, one is a 5/8 Anchor Wester, and the other is an 11/16 Shumate Glide.
I am at the stage of getting a decent full shave with the straights, still not comfortable yet, but getting there.

Welcome to SRP from another Floridian!
Where in Florida are you?
If you haven't already, be sure to check out the Straight Razor Place Wiki there is plenty of excellent information there. You may also want to check out some of the shaving videos. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have and keep us posted on your progress.
Enjoy the journey!

Thanked: 0I live in West Palm Beach.
Thanks everyone.
I have a question maybe someone can help me with?
My Shumate is a 'Shumate Glide' and I can't find any info. on that model, if anyone can shed some light on the Shumate Glide that would be cool.
My guess is that it is called the 'glide' because of the way it just glides the whiskers off.
