Thanked: 0New Member from Toronto, Canada
Hello all. My name is Jeff from Canada. I've recently thought about getting a better shave and came across SRP.
Read through some posts on the wiki section and found myself very interested in straight shaving. Not too interested in the stropping and honing aspect yet, still deciding if I should start out with those non-sharpen ones with disposable blades first just to test the water.
Just curious if there are any members living in Toronto or Canada that knows where I could find a good selection of quality straight shaving equipments.
Thanks to members on this forum, the SRP is truly a great resource for anyone that wants to get into straight shaving.

Welcome to the forums!
Fendrihan is right around the corner, a fantastic online shop. Of course SRD's top shelf as well...I use both regularly.
Enjoy yourself!

Hi Jeff, welcome from Winnipeg! My two daily shavers were purchased right here on the SRP classifieds. I have a third from my grandfather but that's a whole other story
You can even get basic brushes and soap (Proraso) from Shoppers. That's where I bought my first boar's hair brush and menthol soap. You'll hear different opinions on the forums about the quality of brushes and soaps but you really just need to find something that works for you, and Shoppers is a decent and inexpensive place to start.
I've also used Fendrihan.com (Toronto) for some accessories and Albert really gives great service.
If you're looking to start out I recommend getting a razor right here off the classifieds. I do not recommend the cartridge straights... PM a seller or two and let them know you're looking for a starter razor. Most will be happy to help.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about where to get what, what you need, etc. The beginner's forum is also a great place to pose any question. Best of luck!

Hey welcome from a Toronto member!
Send me a pm and I'll tell you all the ins and outs of where to buy in Toronto. And I'll give you some advice on where you can buy some good soaps and creams.
We also have a great honemeister here in Toronto so you'll get some quality edges in half the time than sending down to the states.Shaving_story on Instagram

Thanked: 993Jeff,
Welcome to SRP. Some good advice has already been given.
Check out Toronto Barber and Beauty Supply at Bay and Dundas. They have feather blades/disposable straights if that's what you're looking for.
If you want to get in deep right away, we're having our inaugural Toronto and Area Meet on May 28th. We're heading to a Legion on kingston road, going to bust out some razors, hones, strops and stuff.....it would be a great place to pick up some tips and tricks....
Welcome again.
