Hullo All,
One of the finest thing that i like to do is Straight Razor Shaving.Got started last week, bought a SR,a Dovo,Made in Slyrmany[do not know where this country is].Anyway my first week of shaving was collecting the Mark of Zorro on my cheeks and chin, but enjoyed it.2nd week was a breeze,no more cuts, got a smoooth shave and always looking forward for tomorrow morning.I feel good ,look good and getting better with my shaving.
I am looking into some good SRs,like TI,Robert Williams etc etc..and going to get a good 1 soon.
Thanks to all in the Forums, without whom I cannot start 1 of my new good things in life.

Thanked: 983SLRMANY is probably Latin for Pakistan then... . Good luck with your shaves and I hope you don't judge Dovo's, real Dovo's, by your own dovo. You can pick up a few good used razors on the classifieds here. I have a great 13/16 Wostenholm Pipe from Holli4pirating from this forum. Shaved with it today, and it proved itself once again to be one of my two smoothest shavers. The other smooth shaver is another Sheffield blade, a Bengall.
Another option for good quality at a reasonable price, and new instead of used, would be a Giesen and Forsthoff Timor Blue Steel 150. A 5/8 blade that is a great starting size. And G&F Timor, despite what some might say, are great shavers. I believe G&F provide blade-stock to other razor companies that re-brand them in their own name, so it is quite possible that many knockers of this great Brand, are actually shaving with one of their blades anyway.

Welcome.. also depending on where you purchased your Dovo the shaving edge may not good if it was by a vendor that made sure it was shave ready then it has a factory edge which is not that great.
So you may want to consider sending it out to be honed. You should not need to use any pressure to shave with.

Thanked: 983OK. I no longer think it is a fake. I'd say the issue is with a poorly impressed stamping on that part of the tang. On my own Dovo I can only read the words 'Made in...' as the rest is obscured by the scales.
The font used and the partial stamping only makes it look like SLRMANY. The S and the L should have been a G and an E.
I would be 99.99% certain you have yourself a proper Dovo and not a fake, and it is made in Solingen, Germany.
