    Default Clueless but excited...

    Hello everyone,

    A little about myself,

I work full time in the Nashville area as a police officer. I have a gun business, and a meat processing facility as well. I Do a little Welding as well.....Mainly Stick, but can TIG and MIG.

I recently became fed up with pouring my hard earned money down the drain with the expensive mach 3 razors, so I decided that I rather spend my money on something that is fun, effective, and NON-DISPOSABLE...ha ha. At least if I have hundreds of dollars tied up in razors, strops and hones I will still have something to pass down to my children some day right?

I have ordered several hones from Brownells, have ordered a Boker SS razor, and a 3 inch Strop. I still need to get the diamond plate for lapping, and a shaving brush, mug and some shaving soap, but with Christmas around the corner I am having to take it easy.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Eric

I can tell you that you're already off to a good start. U have the basic neceesities prioritized, and you already ordered most of what you needed. So now you just wait. Waiting is always the hardest part. As far as shave soaps and shaving mugs, there are some nice ones in the classified section of the site, also if you're looking to save a couple bucks, you can just use any old mug as a shave mug unless you're looking for a scuttle or something fancy. As gas as shave soap, the sky is the limit! You can do everything from male your own to paying a bit for others. I make my own and it works awesome, but it's up to your personal preference. Welcome to the club, you'll enjoy it. I know I am.

How do you have time to shave....?

Seriously though, it sounds like a plan. You may want to get another razor when you can. Check the classifieds here...Let us know if you have any questions...

Welcome to the other side.My suggestion would be to read all you can from the WIKI and other forums and go slow. If you follow the directions of the senior folks you'll do just fine.
