    Default Newbie!

    Hi Guys!
I am so glad I stumbled onto your site. I have had my Grandfathers JR Torry razor for years. Unfortunately he passed before I could get him to teach me to use it. I was beginning to think it was a lost art.I have dug out the razor, strop, and hone, now I just need to learn to use em! I cant wait!

Welcome to SRP! That Torrey is probably a great shaver. Mine has never let me down.

May I suggest checking out the classifieds section for someone that does honing in your area. Send the razor to them, ensuring that you start your journey with an excellent edge.

There are many members willing to lend a hand on SRP, and give great advice. Grab a cup of coffee and start reading!

    welcome again.

I think Maxi forgot to tell you to "call in sick , grab your coffee and start reading." Welcome to SRP. Torrey's are great razors and yours is a family heirloom which makes it more special. Send it out to be honed and while you're waiting read up on the wiki, FAQS, and post any questions you have.
