    Default Hello from Mexico!

Hello everyone, the Coffee Addict here.

    I'm from Mexico.

I've been dreaming of straight razor shaving since 2 years ago or so. Currently I shave with a Merkur 34C, Feather blades, a Rooney 3/1 Super brush with some CO Bigelow cream or Pré de Provence.

I haven't been able to buy a complete straight shaving kit. But when I have the budget to get it all I will do right away!

I've also shaved with a somewhat kind of a shavette razor that I bought here, but that's not really a forgiving razor so I've decided to wait until I can get a real one.

I've been watching at Lynn's videos, jockey's and the pastor's tutorials etc. and I just think you straight shavers are great.

Nice to be here. If someone else here is from Mexico don't hesitate to contact me.

    Best regards.

    Bienvenido es SRP Coffee Addict,.

The Wiki section of SRP has much information that will help with learning how to use a Str8 razor. I do not know if there are any active SRP mentors in Mexico. Feel free to ask any questions you like, it is an open forum dedicated to promoting Str8 razor use.

    Mucho gusto,
    Mike

    Greetings from Mexico too.

If you live in Mexico City, Casa Boker, in Downtown, in 16 de Septiembre Street, they sell all tools needed for straight razor shaving, made by Böker Company.

    Thank you everyone.

I'll continue researching about straight razors 'till I'm able to get me a complete kit.

Yeah, Casa Boker was stablished at the end of XIX Century in that old house of the german Böker Family, and is still there; but they have no relation with Böker Baumwerk Solingen. Beginning 2011, they are now Partners, but even before the partnership, they were selling straight razor tools from other providers.

That sounds very interesting. I've also heard about "La casa del fumador". Do yo own some straights?

La Casa del Fumador is like McDonald's, it is just a new company in the franchise line and doesn't have anything to do in health-care for men, in fact their products are not good enough. Casa Boker have its own history, even related with the Mexican Revolution, I like it because its vintage feeling and manly store.

In my shaving kit, I have a Böker Extra Hollow Ground straight razor, an Illinois Strop with handle, a Norton 4K/8K combo and Magnum 1500 honing stones, a Böker Badger brush and L'Occitane Shaving Cream and Soap. Most of them you can buy them at Casa Boker.
