    Christoph,

Welcome to SRP! Another Ontarian, awesome.

If you're interested, we're having our inaugural Toronto and Area Meet on May 28th, here in T.O.

I realize that North Bay is a bit of a trek, but you may see something you like, or pick up some tips and tricks. Are you shaving with your razors, or just collecting blades for collection purposes?

thanks for the welcome and were abouts is this meeting. also i have never attempted to shave with one yet, as the two i own are very dull and i don 't know anything about honing or stropping. So at the moment its just for collecting purposes.

Well, I've been lurking around here for a bit but taking it all in before I opened my mouth and your post drew me out of the woodwork. I don't mean to hijack but count me amongst the boys in North Bay. We will have to plan a get together sometime.

yes for sure, might have to organize a meet for drinks possibly. Do you shave with yours or collect only? so far im collecting only, have to send mine out for honing. I currently use a DE for shaving, and have used a shavette do kinda get the feel for a straight.

First, I would say kudos to you for being patient and easing your way into it. That patience will serve you well if you continue the progression that you are doing. Take things slow and easy and the blood letting will be kept to a minimum.

Second, I am not one to decline an opportunity for refreshment. I guess that you could say that I collect them for shaving :-) I try to keep them all in rotation as much as possible. At the moment I have 7 Livis, a pair of Kamasoris and a varied assortment of other razors that I have accumulated since I joined the sport, not to mention a ton of honing gear. The only thing is that Reno is my home "home" and although I am in North Bay about 75% of my time, I do keep most of my toys there. I then rotate them out when I go stateside every month, returning to NB with new playthings for my next work rotation. I'll be glad to meet up sometime and give you some help taking it to the next level if you want to. I guarantee that you will not regret it and if you are happy with what you are doing, I'll still be glad to meet up and talk blades, badgers and leather over a beer or possibly 2...
