Welcome aboard and be sure to keep us updated once you get the strop and razor. I think some guys are trying to get a Penn meet together, if it comes to fruition it may be a good thing for you to stop by if you can make it. You can learn a lot from videos and this site but nothing is better than watching and talking to people in real life.

Southeastern PA here. If you ever need some honing done, i'd be happy to hook you up. I don't do so for a living but i do enjoy it and you live relatively close. Good luck on your first shave.

Everything should arrive tomorrow, so hopefully get a chance to watch the DVD then. If this is anything like my other hobby pipes and pipe tobacco this could be trouble

Thanks holeHeartless for the offer, I am up around the DuBois area When the time comes I think honing is something I would like to learn to do. I have some water stones already out in my wood shop but not the higher grit ones.

So far so good, Package arrived today. Watched Lynn's DVD, very informative. My razor was shave ready and I used it right out of the box. Only did the right side of my face WTG with no nicks and no burn and finished up with my DE. Going to take a little practice to get used to this so for now I will stick to that side until I feel comfortable moving on. Will start to practice stropping also.

So far a positive experience for me.
