Thanked: 0Hello and thank you
Hi everyone. I'm a new member and have been doing a lot of research and reading before purchasing my first razor. I have been interested in straight razors for a long time, and running across this forum has pushed me over the edge. Thanks so much for all the info you guys provide. It has been very helpful for someone new and interested in straight razor shaving. I am looking at a Dovo best quality razor right now and still doing some research on brushes, strops, etc. Looking forward to finding out more about these as I browse through the forums. I have also been looking around on ebay and other places for an older straight razor to restore in the future. Thanks again for the wealth of info to help start out.

Thanked: 0I am not a fan of many bladed razors like the mach5, so I have been using schick st2 twin blade disposables up until now.
I know, not great, but I have tried other razors, mach 2 etc in the past, and haven't been impressed.
I had thought about straight razors before, but had thought that they were illegal here in Canada until recently.
I must say, also a bit scared because of all the ppl out there saying how dangerous they are.
I have found the Wiki, and it has been very helpful, thanks.

Thanked: 993Welcome to SRP.
I'm pretty sure we're ok to use straights up here.
Dangerous? Crossing Yonge street in Toronto is dangerous. You'll be fine with a straight edge, as long as you give it the respect it deserves.
Where in Canada are you located?
