Can I ask where you purchased your Dovo and is it shave ready?
    Good luck

You have come to the right place, this site has a lot of knowledge ready for the picking. I suggest you read up in the wiki, then check out our video subsection, and finally, as Ryan pointed out read Gssixgun's beginners tips, here is a collective list of his monthly writings.

Addiction here takes its hold in various guises. RAD SAD HAD BAD and there's probably some that I've missed. The first one (RAD) Razor acquisition disorder usually sets in first. You may find that you will be wanting a razor for each day of the week, then you will be want occasion razors, like Christmas, Thanks giving, Birthday, Anniversary and so on. Luckily help is on hand here at SRP.

"Christmas razor", I like it. Now, if I got a Hallowe'en razor, I might pass on shaving with it.

Resistance to the AD's is futile. The only known cure is to keep acquiring. It's a temporary relief, but a relief non the less.

    cochinito77,

    Welcome to SRP.

Great purchase, from a great guy. Jim Ayers is very helpful.

I purchased my first straight razor & strop set from Vintage Blades many moons ago--a Dovo "Red Solingen" and 3" latigo strop. I've also purchased some very nice shaving brushes from VB too.

In fact, I just purchased a 6/8 Thiers-Issard from Vintage Blades.
