Just an FYI, you are going to be in for a long night removing a frown with a barber's hone.

That was the only solid and completely flat surface I had at the moment. I've got a barber's hone and strop that I was (and am) going to use on it before attempting any shaving. I'll certainly need the honing and stropping practice anyways :-)

I just fixed that. This is not a razor - it's a decorative artifact.

Just to add to the thread. I'm a straight razor shaving newbie and also ordered a razor from this same producer. After failing miserably to cut hair with it, I ended up comparing it to several pocket knives. It was better than one (slightly) and worse than the other (much worse). I personally doubt very much if anyone would be able to shave with this razor, well, other than the guy in Russia who claims to be able to shave with a shovel. I would like to see the comparison between this razor and a shovel though .

But at $60, it was for me an under-priced, unusable razor and an over-priced... I'll go with the previous 'decorative artifact'.

Attached is a close up (as close as I could get anyway) of the lower edge.
