Glad to be here. I'm up in Bossier City. I'm fastly approaching 25 years in my beloved Corps. I know this is going to sound like pure blasphemy, but I was born and raised here in Louisiana but I'm a Nebraska fan.

I am going to follow your advice and send the razor off to get honed, but until then it's back to shaving with my DE's and the shavette. The sunday morning shave was rather unpleasant when I attempted to shave ATG. After the first stroke I quick put the SE down and finished the shave off with a DE. As I stated in an earlier post, lesson learned.

Yo, I'm across the river from you in Shreveport. If you'd like, I can hone the razor for you, and I can show you a few tips and tricks to help you get a good start. Welcome to SRP

This is a good place for it. Search the forums for your answers. If you don't find what you're looking for (highly unlikely with plenty of newbie help available on here) , ask away.

Welcome. I like your screen name a lot.

I never used a shavette but I'd say it is very much a real straight razor. If you hiccup mid-shave I'd say you couldn't tell the difference. Chins, by the way are tough with a straight blade (both in texture and working the curves). If you search keyword "chin" and "titles" there are nearly 100 discussions about blade vs. chin.

What sort of help? It might be worth starting your own thread, or thisun will get messy.
