    Default Newbie Intro

Hi Guys, (and the odd girl ofcourse!!)

I never thought to be on this forum, or starting Straight razor shaving for that matter.

    However....
A few weeks ago one of my, interesting, costumers tells me he has a webshop in shaving goodies. since I have been into knives and sharp objects, I was really triggered by his story.

the day after meeting him, I gave him a call to make an appointment for a straightRazor Workshop, which will be next wednesday(28th)..... I'm very curious on how my face will look afterwards

I've been struggeling my wet(gilette) shaves for ages now. Tried it all...... and the best I can do for now is an every-other-day shave, not to ruin my face. Shaving under the shower, only after scrubbing my face, and using Williams Shaving oil as a lube.
and then still: rash, pulling and not a smooth shave

So.... I'm very eager to start practicing with a nice Straight Razor, to get the same shavingexperience all of you guys are having already

Thanks for reading, and even more thanks for posting all this very usefull info here

Welcome to the forum. It's a great thing that you were able to meet someone right away and get a tutorial. That will undoubtedly help your learning curve.

    Have fun!

Who's your customer with the webshop? may well be a member here.

Welcome! and enjoy the workshop, as maxi says, a tutorial off the bat is a valuable thing

Welcome to the forum. It is best to use the Wiki and do some learning before putting blade to face.

Since I have a Goatee, that I try to trim with straight edges, I'm used to putting a barbers straight razor(tondeo) with replacable blades on my face.

This, combined with the 2 night workshop, makes me a bit eager to shave with a proper straight razor.

If you don't hear from me after next week, I probably got overexited, and slit my throat.....

We all think that way the first time. My wife was watching with the camera in one hand and the phone in the other just in case. I think the real reason for the camera was so she could prove that she didnt slit my throat.
