Thread: Another Newb

Hi everyone, the names Dennis.

Some of you may Know Ken of RupRazors, well he is the man to thank for my presence here as well as for the nicks on my chin.

he got me set up with one of his strops and honed up my "antique shop" razor for me as a graduation gift and so for the past 3 months now I have been practicing.

In fact, I've been so tentative about it, I only cut myself for the first time this Monday!!

I'm still working on my stropping technique and left handed shaving, as well as trying to remember to stretch my skin.

I have yet to get as close a shave as I can with disposable razors (but that comparison may be unfair, as I usually apply straight techniques and do two or more passes with a full wet-shave ritual and achieve a bbs face for days) although I am seeing marked improvement.

I've been lurking for a while and decided to join the forum, it looks like there's a good group of guys (and some gals ;]) here.

I look forward to getting to know you all and if anyone has some stuff gathering dust in their closet, I'd be more than willing to take it off your hands!!!
