    Default A hello from Canada

Hey everyone. My name is Adam, I live in Toronto, Ontario. I registered here mostly to ask a few questions about a very specific razor, one used in the movie "Drive". I understand that it is a Dubl Duck, but I noticed they switched the blade (maybe) for a newer, different one. Enough of that for now though, I will talk a bit more about me before I end this intro. I'm 20 years of age, and I first got into straight razors only a year or so ago when I was in a antique/vintage store. They had a few beauties there but I was cautious about buying something that was previously owned. I have never purchased one in my life, and i would like my first to be an exact replica of the one used by Albert Brooks in Drive.

I guess that's all for now. Looking forward to being here, and learning a lot more about these.

    Adam

    Hello Adam.

May I make a suggestion? It may be a good idea to purchase a shave ready razor from our Classifieds section. I understand your quest for a particular razor....many of us have held such a quest at one time or another. However, maybe you want to experience the process of straight shaving a bit before you spend obscene amounts of money on one razors (Ducks in mint condition do not come cheap....or even affordable).

I'm not trying to dissuade you from your holy grail, merely suggesting that you figure out if straight shaving is truly what you want to do. If that's the case,....then....then you can spend buckets of money on MANY razors!!

Good luck sir. PM me if you need anything, questions or assistance. It's likely that we live within a short TTC jaunt of each other.

Also.....if you really want the Duck first....then PM our member named Dllandry. If you talk nicely he may be willing to part with one of his .

    Good luck,

    Good luck,
Wow, thanks a lot for that reply. I really appreciate the kindness around here. I am looking to buy this specific razor for display purposes only, just to put on a shelf with other props from the movie. I will however be looking for my own shave-ready razor as well.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!!
