Hi
Hi Guys,
After being converted to DE shaving and starting to suffer from RAD and various other related acquisition disorders, i have recently decided that if I'm going to acquire things, why not nicer things?
So i ordered a straight razor. and a strop. and a hone.
I also had the foresight to read these forums and have it properly made "shave ready" before it arrived here. So at this point in time I am eagerly awaiting my new purchases' arrival and reading up on anything handy i can find
So thanks to all you old members that are constantly writing interesting and informative things for me to read. It's much appreciated.
Cheers,
Aidan.

Welcome to SRP, Aidan. You'll probably find this forum every bit as addicting as anything AD you get.

OK, Perhaps i should clarify.. "experienced members that haven't just joined up" as opposed to "Old"
My apologies for the non-intentional slight. LOL

Yes i did indeed.
Thankyou. Hopefully if enough people wish me many great shaves, the nett effect will be enough to ensure i dont slice my face off the first time and do in fact have many great shaves.
I'm starting to get a little anxious waiting for all my gear to arrive though... Hopefully i havent over purchased seeing as I'm a newb :P

Welcome to SRP, Aiden.
Might I suggest that you put the hone away for a while (when it arrives) and concentrate on your lathering, stropping and shaving technique, first.
There are so many variables in this area alone that you don't want to confuse the issue by trying to hone as well.
Read lots of posts and the WIKI and the 'community conciousness' will assure that your first shaves will be OK.
Hang on and enjoy the ride.Hang on and enjoy the ride...
