Welcome aboard, there is much information in the wiki section. Great town Montreal, I bought the best leather coat I have at Dimitri's. Also had one of the best steak's in my life there and I'm from cattle country..

Welcome aboard! Read the Beginner's Guide before you spend any money on new equipment. When you decide to make the investment, I'd suggest a restored straight (from the SRP Classifieds or whippeddog.com), rather than a brand new razor. At minimum you'll need:
A SR
Brush
Strop
Cream/Soap
After Shave
Understand, too, that this is a pursuit that has a fairly steep learning curve. I have been shaving with a SR for over a year, and still have not mastered all the nuances.
Welcome to your new obsession!
