Thanked: 0newbie from missouri
Hey all!
So i actually found out about straight razor shaving from theartofmanliness.com and it sounded awesome... I always hated shaving and all the advantages of straight shaving really got to me, namely the cheapness(after initial costs, of course. but i'm a college student. who wasn't cheap in college?), on top of the general badass-ness of it...i just had to.
so after talking to my barber about it, i got myself set up with a fromm 72r(i know there's better options, now that i've found the forums...but too late now, it's already bought) I bought some soap, and stole my brother's brush(he uses an old gillette DE, with face-lathering cream, doesn't use his brush anymore)
It's currently away being honed, so i can't say much about shaving with it, except that i'm SUPER excited about this whole deal... wish i had found out about it before, when i had to stay clean-shaven every day (catholic high school...)
also one question...i tried twice to send pm's, and both times it never showed up in my sent folder, so i don't think they sent. do i need to have a certain number of posts or something before i can pm?

Thanked: 485Welcome aboard! Shaving with a straight razor is VERY cool and you'll be sucked in immediately.
You should also immediately forget any thoughts about saving money, there are way too many nice razors, creams, soaps, etc out there...
My sent PMs never show in the sent folder either...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 993Welcome to the forum.
If you want your message to show up in your sent folder, you have to navigate over to your Settings tab, and select "General Settings". Then scroll down until you find this:
Sent Private Messages:
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default
Don't save a copy of sent messages
Select the one you wish.
Hope this helps.

Thanked: 993I'd give Lynn some time....I believe the man is probably crazy busy with razors. He also probably gets more PM's than the rest of us.
Sit back and relax.... he'll probably reply as soon as he gets a chance.
