Been interested in the straight razor thing for some time. Poked around the websites and finally bit on a new TI razor, but also had one from an auction years ago. Like a kid, I used to run it over my face pretending to shave. Love the ritual of it all. So now I have six or seven -- TI x 2, Dovo, and more. Just bought Norton stones from this site. Going to get it figured out, how to properly strop, hone, etc. Would appreciate any knowledgeable people from my area (K-W, Guelph) sharing knowledge.

Maxi, it would be perfect timing but I am taking a course at Conestoga this weekend. Won't be done until Sunday around mid-afternoon. I think you're the only other Guelphite on here (looking through the thread) but maybe also some nearby (Mississauga, Hamilton etc) to connect with after this weekend is done so I can get some mentoring. Appreciate the reply/post.

Welcome to SRP. There are many Canadians here, including a few from Guelph so you are not alone. Anyway, you've come to the right place for all the info you'll ever need on straight razors. I'm sure you'll be well on your way before long!

I'm in downtown Toronto, but you're more than welcome to come hang out and do razor stuff anytime. JDTO and I have been getting together every couple of weeks on Saturdays to do "Shop days". The more the merrier.
