Hey friend, I'm not to far from you too. Welcome! Yeah, AOS ain't the greatest. I do have some of their stuff that I really like, but they are expensive. Check out SRD for a nice selection of razors. All are sold shave ready too. Good luck and have fun!

When i went there, I almost felt bad because they are pretty nice and I hear their CS is very good, but damn, they didn't know s*** about their razors. Three big ones that they threw at me was that "Solingen" was a brand, not a place, and that Dovo and Solingen were the same thing, and lastly, "you shave with the leather side of a strop first, to get the blade warm and malleable, then use the canvas side to sharpen."
BUT, they did have a nice selection of pre and after shave products. The knife gallery upstairs in the mall had a dovo best quality 6/8 for $89 so I picked that up, instead. and the guy knew his stuff. But from now on, i'll definitely be getting my blades from SRD. they have amazing stuff.

Welcome, from an AZ member. I too work the night shift. It is funny to see recent posts and updates on SRP in the middle of the night. Maybe because of members in other parts of the world or just a few with insomnia.

Yeah and that Dovo isn't shave ready I'm sure. I'd send it out to Don and Lynn at SRD to have it honed.

that's exactly what I plan to do. Unfortunately, i'll have to go back to the old shick quattro...since i've started using straights, i haven't wanted to use anything else. I'm sure it'll be worth it. might as well send in my first blade to see how it really shaves.

Yeah that blows. I have a DE that I use when I can't use my straight. It's a great option.
