Thanked: 0Hello from Switzerland!
Hi guys! I'm from Switzerland and pretty new in the world of straight razor shaving! I started classic shaving about 2 years ago after seeing geofatboy's videos on youtube! Quickly after I purchased him an Edwin Jagger DE89L and a Feather RG folding razor. I already had a badger (Plisson) and some shaving soap (Martin de Candres). After a bad first experience (nice cut on the chin...) with the Feather, I decided to try the DE, which was very satisfying! Good and quick shaves with no cuts or irritations, really good results. But my first goal coming to classic shaving was to shave with a straight razor... So about one year ago I tried again with the shavette. I had pretty good results after a while but the shave was not very comfortable... And going against the grain was just not possible! So I decided to order a REAL straight razor. I had the opportunity to buy an old Bismarck shave ready for a good price. So I did it and the result was just outstanding! I've never had such a smooth shave! Just a complete new world!!!
So here I am essentially to keep learning to progress with my technique, sharing experiences and trying to learn about restoration (I bought some old ones on ebay...)!Last edited by animalmother; 06-21-2012 at 03:18 PM.
