Thanked: 0Thanks. I have two strops that were also with the razor. One just says "finish" on it and no brand, and the other is a Shell Horsehide 840 which seems to be a lot rougher. Both were stored well and seem to be keeping the blade in good shape so far. I don't have any other straight razors to compare to though.

Welcome to SRP!
I wish I had a family heirloom to shave with. Hoepfully, my future sons will be able to pass what I have currently along to future generations.- Jeremy -
A year from now, you'll wish you had started today.

Thanked: 0It is nice to use something connected to the family. It doesn't seem like there is as many items anymore that can survive long enough to be handed down. I am getting a comfortable shave and have been getting a lot better about not cutting myself, so I guess the blade is sharpened well. Now I want to get a couple more to have a small collection to use and hand down someday.
