Thread: Just Joined!

Hey guys just joined today after looking around for the past few days... I started using a "straight razor" a few years ago when i was Sweeney Todd for halloween and loved it. Although it was a disposable blade straight razor I still loved the feel of it. I love wearing mustaches and I feel it is easier to shave with a straight blade. Hope to find out a lot of info on here.. just bought a razor here through the classifieds for my first real straight razor. I am looking for a cheap strop to practice on as well. thanks guys!

Welcome! My first practice strop was a news paper folded to 3" and hung from a towel rack. After that I had only one very minor nick on my first strop (Latigo), that I still use on occasions. Double O

I ordered a cheap strop just to start out that should be here Friday or Saturday. If not Monday. Also I have a Van Der Hagen shave set coming, and some bald frog soap. And my razor (top flight) should be coming around then as well... Looking forward to getting back into this fine art! PS anyone have more info on the Burrell cutlery co.? Thanks
