Thanked: 0Hello from Jerusalem
Greetings from the Holy City! I'm a US Army officer stationed in Jerusalem for three years. I've started wet shaving (DE) since arriving a year ago, and my interest in Straight Razors has been piqued. Not sure if I'm prepared to make the plunge, but I'm trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can before I do!
Cheers,
Ken

Welcome to SRP.
Starting out with a DE is a fine way to learn much of what is needed for a straight shave.
Prep, lathering, pressure, or lack thereof
Do check out the beginner's guide on the frontpage, and have a look at the library as well.
I'm sure you will find anything you need, and then some, on this site.
If not, ask away and we will make our best effort to help out.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 0Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the help! And Manah, I'd be very interested to know more about razors here in Israel. I get the feeling it's a very small following!
My Hebrew is okay in terms of comprehension, but my speaking is still a bit stilted. I've recently started a MA in Public Policy at the Hebrew University here in Jerusalem, so I expect it'll improve quickly!

Welcome to SRP. Be careful, this place can be addicting.
