Default Hello from the deep south

    Hello everyone,

I started gathering beat up vintage razors over the past few months to try my hand at restoring some. I've helped my father restore lots of WW2 era swords and some older Japanese pieces over the years as that is one of his many hobbies, and I started picking up vintage razors at the random estate sales and things I would visit with him. I don't know what it was about the razors in particular, but I've always found them to be very interesting. With the desire to start restoring razors I also started wanting to try shaving with one of course. I found this site while looking to buy a vintage razor that was already honed and shave ready so that I would have a base line to compare my progress with. So... I'll probably be buying one from one of you fine gentlemen in the classified section pretty soon. I've already learned a ton just from looking around the site!

Welcome to SRP! You'll find that knowledge is the really important tool in SR shaving, and there's plenty of it here.

Welcome to SRP, we seem to have many restorers err restorators... err people who fix up old blades here so I don't doubt you will find plenty to help you. As for the shaving part, all I know of it comes from here and practice. The practice is the hard part, getting info here is fairly easy. People tend to respond to questions before I've finished deciding what the question even means.
