Shaved with a Ka-Bar Hilarity ensued
Hello gent's!
I am very excited about starting to shave with a straight razor (properly). I have been researching this online for a while because I couldn't even find a barber in my area that used one after my usual barber retired. I played with the Idea for years never willing to spend the upfront capital for a grooming tool I may not enjoy, that is until today. Now I preface the story of my day with a warning, do not try this at home as I probably shouldn't have in the first place. I was contemplating the scene in several movies where you see the action hero shaving with a Bowie knife. I have a Ka-Bar. What could go wrong?? well as it happened, nothing. the research I had done for shaving with a straight razor paid off and I only ended up with one nick and it was so minor it went away after a pinch. The unexpected side-effect was that I had an extremely close shave never achieved with any disposable not to mention the blasphemy of an electric razor. So now I am completely focused on purchasing the right tools and I am exited to join a community that shares my passion for a smooth face!Order of life: Family, self, everything else

That's good, Boots! I actually have a Ka-Bar straight razor from Union Cutlery, USA. Makers of the Ka-bar knife! Great steel!
Once you get a good shave, you won't look back!
Welcome!

I already refuse to look back! I am committed to this course of action! However the Ka-bar incident may or may not be repeated as I used the knife version, a 7 inch blade is quite ridiculus for shaving however amusing I may have found it.

Boots, I've never seen Swiss Army Knives in Dollar stores. The one you referenced was $22.00 & a small one. Actually the Swiss Army knives are great quality, they are not crap. A Ka-Bar ( I own several original ones) are not custom knives. I can hone razors, but still do not believe the Ka Bar shave, not calling you a liar, just think you've been hitting the Egg Nog a few months early.
I suspect you are about to be eaten by a Big Cat.
