Caught the straight razor shaving "addiction"
Hello all, my name is Bryan. I've been a member of SRP and been shaving with a straight for almost a month now. Within a week of starting this "new-old" way to shave, I knew there was no other way. I just wanted to thank SRP for all the great info and tips. Happy shaving everyone.

Thanked: 993Hey Bryan,
Sounds like you're on a good path. Have you been afflicted by any of the acquisition disorders?

If by acquisition disorder you mean, spending $ on straight razor stuff, then absolutely. I've already got 6 straights. All vintage. A norton 1k, 4k, and 8k hones. Along with a swaty and a Classic Shaving strop. I've honed 4 of these myself and shave with them all, thanks to Lynn's and Glenn's tips and videos. There's no turning back for me.

Thanked: 993Amazing. Isn't it great to shave with a vintage blade that you honed up all on your own. I found that to be an incredible feeling the first time I did it. I still do actually.
There's a self sufficiency in straight shaving that is absent in many of our current worldly endeavours.

Thanked: 8It is a moment in the day that feels different -- a bit apart from the modern world. Revel in it! I do.

Wait 'till you find the "Shaving Channel", you won't be leaving the house . . .
Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

I know what you mean. I actually look forward to shaving now. I used to dread it before. Thanks again to all for the kind words and support. SRP rocks.

And this is just the beginning. Wait until you try and get every model of a certain razor maker(for me it was bokers).

I've become partial to Torrey's already. I'm always on the bay looking.
