I didn't see you were from Atlanta at first, I am about an hour to hour and a half east of you. I was talking with a couple of Georgians about a week ago, and we may try to get a meet up going sometime in Atlanta; so keep your eyes peeled, it would be a great chance to look, listen, learn, and maybe even try stuff out if you get the chance.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Great idea - though it'll take a long time to master that way. But if you are ok with that, it's all good!! Vacation is a good time to learn as well .
Perhaps during the week while you are learning to master the straight on the weekends, you could use a double edge (DE). This will still allow you all the benefits of traditional shaving, yet continue to reinforce the reduction method, and the ever important... no pressure technique!
Congrats on making the commitment to making your shaves a pleasurable experience! Welcome to SRP!David

Thanks all for the encouragement. The DE razor idea is a good one. Anything to ditch the Fusion and be strapped to cartridges. Been reading lots about stropping and such here. I think it is doable with time. The big plus now is no more canned cream. Just easing into it all. And looking at real razors like the Dovo.
I am sure in a year I will have quite a collection of stuff. Was that way with other hobbies. This is a very good website by the way. Also was thinking or ordering Lynn's DVD. It is so helpful to watch and re-watch this stuff. Really helps me out a lot.Bill

This should give you a start on who you can send a PM to in your area.
Hope this helps,Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
