G'Day Hannah and welcome to SRP.
Glad to see another Aussie on board.
This might give you some ideas for keeping sharp things away from little hands

You could start with a disposable straight. Lord makes a plastic single use model that comes in bubble wrap package, and a small blade guard that has to be removed in order to access the blade. They are available on the Bay for a little over a buck each. Might be a good fix until you come up with a good storage option for a real SR.
Anyway, WELCOME to the forum. Come back often, read and share . . .Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

Thanked: 1Thanks for the warm welcome!!
Tiddle, I'm lol'ing at sheila! That's a great idea to introduce the babes to it. I will definitely store it out-of-reach but I'm all for letting my kids understand first-hand how things work so I think introducing them to it is really wise.
Pink lather, you are so brave shaving your lovers legs!! I've let hubby shave mine once or twice with a "safety" razor and THAT made me nervous
Haveachat45, those display cases are GORGEOUS!! Might need to commission hubby to make one of those
Eekspa, I asked my husband a little while ago to make one for me as he makes knives, so he's researching doing that at the moment. That's a good idea though, I might purchase one to try out while I wait...goodness knows how long it will be till it's finished!!
Thanks again for the welcome. Might check out the ladies spot, does it come with free chocolate?!

Thanked: 1072Hey Hannah and welcome to SRP.
I have a 7, 5 and 2 year old in my house so I need to be vary careful how I store my razors.
I keep them in this case, which is out of reach (for the two littlest guys anyway).
After I shave I leave the razor out to dry before putting it back in the case. I have a spot on the top shelf in my cupboard where I leave them for a few hours.
As well as all that the kids know never to touch the razors, a shave-ready razor is rediculously sharp.
Anyway I reckon have a look around, come up with something you like & get the hubby to knock up a case for you.
I think you'll both have a lot of fun with straight razors.
Nice to see a girl around here too.

Thanked: 1587Hello and welcome to SRP
I'd store the razors away from the bathroom. I use a cash lock box for some of mine. A cheap and safe, though not particularly pretty, solution.
