Hi Sampson and welcome aboard! Lots to learn but like most of us you'll find that you will more than likely enjoy the learning part as much as the shaving part. It's a different skill and experience and it's nice to be able to turn shaving from being a "chore" that has to be endured into something that you actually look forward to doing.
Good luck!Greg

Thanked: 2Well went to the art of shaving today and my anniversary present was a Dovo from there. Pretty excited. W probably over paid but I had my wife on the ropes and I wanted to feel a razor in my hand before I bought my first. No worry I feel that if (read when) rad hits me ill be hitting up the classifieds more. But the first I wanted to feel the thing in my hand. And that is the only place I know of out here With that option. Will be hitting up for a better strop soon though. But here you go my first sr. Nothing to fancy but nice enough to be proud I hope.

Hey Sampson,
Nice razor!! Fancy doesn't shave any better than plain. Sending it out to be professionally honed might be the best thing to do now. Very few razors with a factory edge are really shave ready. Here's a current thread on AOS and shave ready. Just linking it to give you more info. http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-loophole.html
If you do want it honed by one of our members you can find them in the classifieds and vendors, linked below. Having a professionally honed razor really makes a difference and really helps in the learning curve of shaving with a straight.
Great present from your wife, good razor, congrats!! All seems to be going well!!
Enjoy!!
Regards,
