Are there really laws against ferrets? Didn't know that. I imagine it's The Consolidated Ferret Act 1986 or something...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Sure is. I don't think you can even get a permit to have one. You can get a permit and own a gun, but you can't own one of those damned dangerous ferrets! No sirree! Brings me to another point. You can own a Dingo (Australia's native dog) in this state...But only if it's neutered. Now how f**ked is that?! You can own a feral dog, cat, rat, mouse etc ad nauseum without neutering it... OK. I'm hopping off my soapbox naow. What were we talking about? Ferret brushes I think wasn't it?!

Actually I think you're allowed a ferret if they CCW (Carry a Concealed Wombat)

I saw some thing on Wombat's a few weeks ago on the boob tube. They have like an armored butt/rump. I did not know that. The chick was knocking on it and it sounded like a fiberglass bowl. Y'all have some weird critters down your way. Really cool, but weird.

    Default Ferrets

Ferrets are illegal in California as well. They kill babies, so they say. I don't know their stance on Dingoes, but, I've heard they have a bad rep with babies as well.

I wonder if you could farm them for Wombat butt shaving bowls...

Yeah, apparently they take babies all the time.. (supposedly once, 32 years ago)

I imagine that in certain situations an armoured butt/rump would come in handy...

The gal said, when they're in their holes, they hunker down and if a critter tries to get it, it jumps up and squishes the critter's head between it's butt and the burrow roof. Hey, I didn't even know they had Kevlar butts, who am I to say she ain't right? Ya know Carl, if a critter is trying to chomp another critter that's running away, the lead critter often gets bit in the butt, kinda makes sense.

I did find a picture of a ferret that explains why they are not allowed. Had no idea they were so scary looking!!
