The 3rd as of now. I was going through the chairs and about to enter the Chapter and Council when my ex asked for a divorce, now 2 years later I am returning to my work. I am also a Shriner.

Very cool and sorry to hear about the divorce. I'm only a Master Mason but I'm looking to join the Scottish Rite soon.

Is the York Rite active in your area? I am thinking that I will go there and then the Scottish Rite.

Well if you are ever in the UK and can get down to South Wales you would always be wecome to visit the lodge that I am a member. Would definitely be worth a trip over in 2017 as that's the United Grand Lodge of England's 300 birthday.

In south wales we perform the Oxford Rite during a craft lodge.
If I remember rightly the Scottish Rite is completely by invite only in the areas governed by the United Grand Lodge of England and is worked in chapter. Don't know how like this your system is?

I don't know the Oxfors Rite, i will have to study. Here in the States the Scottish Rite is open to all Master Masons who attend the degrees, only the 33rd degree is restricted to invitation only. Do you know if there is a formal way to share communications across the Atlantic without traveling or violation of obligations?

You can get a written communication from your Lodge chapter, plus your membership card and the signs should do.

Thats true providing the two grand lodges are currently talking to each other you should be able to turn up be proved by someone and sit in the lodge, even easier if you were with a current member of that lodge that will vouch for you. You Lodge Sec should be able to get comunications from the UK helping with any differences in things.
If anyone is interested in talking more might be sensible to exhange email addresses via the PM here enabling us to talk in more privacy.

Hi I've just joined and am a Mason here in the UK governed by the UGLE.
Your Masonry must be slightly different to ours as you can only go as high as 33 degrees in one specific chapter here in the UK all others have far less. But like you none of them are superiour to the 3rd craft degree.
