Stealing of your design well underway here. Just got back from getting the bass wood and some leather. This one is going to have to be a single layer (too shallow for the tray after all). I have 3 more boxes inbound and I know for sure one is big enough to replicate your setup. Thanks! Pics by Sunday.

Thought I'd have wrapped this box up Sunday but noooo - I had to get creative. Does anyone know if camphor wood has any negative impacts to the steel in razors? I have this idea that using an angled wedge thing made of camphor might be kinda cool - and smell interesting in the box. If one likes the smell and it goes away, just scrape it a few times with sandpaper. Anyway that's the bit of wood I decided to use to attach the bass wood divers to.

Also playing with a design that allows the blade you just used to be set off to the side of the box over an open container holding rice or something to absorb whatever moisture may be on your freshly used blade - helps with keeping track of the rotation too. Pics soon, as soon as I find out if camphor wood is OK being inside a box with blades.

Should have finished today but my neighbor came by for beer (read: cut a box full of 1/8th wood strips for me). So a cubic yard of sawdust later I'm just now getting back to it.

    Any progress on this?

The individual holders are big enough to accommodate even my biggest Sheffield blades.

There is a bottom tray under the top one for my growing collection, too (not sure what I'm going to do with the glass cigar tubes, though, maybe use them in my mad scientist's lab?)

Anyway, for any of you trying to start your shave den on a budget, this is a low-cost, but still classy-looking storage solution. Aaron
Do you know what's the box name? or what cigar types did it hold, it would help narrow down the search.
