Quite a few I'd say, like I said there is a guy in the UK who sells on eBay, i reckon a searchfor scuttle would turn it up.
I think a two part scuttle would be nice, but the top bowl would need to be keyed so it didn't spin on the bottom one. They would be easy to clean and dry.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I found the eBay seller, search "woodhead studio" they do a range of scuttles in a range of sizes, the scuttle is fairly inexpensive, BUT the postage is a killer.
They are nice though.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I have and love a Dirty Bird scuttle. The grid pattern inlaid in it makes at least a 50% improvement in your lathering. From what I've seen on the net, George Town Pottery has the nicest looking scuttle I've seen. The Dirty Bird is a little crudely made, but it works damn well. For a long time, I used a candy bowl/goblet from Wallyworld....paid $2.50 for it.

This is the set-up I recently came up with. My wife is also a Potter and so I combined a piece of hers that I'd used previously at work as a Pencil Holder with a cup from eBay/China similar to this one:
NEW 7 2cm Shinning Double Layer Stainless Steel MUG Bowl CUP FOR Shave Brush | eBay
Since it is double-walled it floats on top of the hot water in the Scuttle and keeps the cream nice and warm and the bowl is stabile enough to do a little swirling with the brush as needed. The cup is small but it is what I started with and so I still get great results from it. But, I've read enough about the Dirty Bird scuttles that I have shown her the links/videos and asked if she can make something similar... Just a roll of the eyes so far as I think she believes I spend too much time focused on this "shaving thing".

Thanked: 1184Just ask her if you can use her stuff and make 1 yourself. I am sure she would love to avoid that mess at any cost. :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 2I simply use a simple ice cream bowl. The foot of the bowl can be nicely held. For those on a budget its a good choice.
