Kamisori display
I got the bug for Kamisori a while ago....Right! Now, since they do not self cover the edge, I had to do something..No toss in drawer for these. Most boxing would not save the edge; so:
A simple wall shadow box from a garage sale sawed into a front and a back using a table saw, not quite all the way through the walls; extra pieces containing magnets (see above) were positioned and screwed to the back, and hinges and hardware were installed. I have seen similar boxes at Craft Stores.
The Box with razors stuck to magnets installed, using the hanging hardware, in a shave cave alcove
All closed up, safe and ready for use.
Kamisori are fun and so is the shop time taken to keep them safe.
PS Glen's sharpening video is a great way to hone them.
Linked https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...amisori+honing rather than embed there are more than one in the series:
Have fun! you way will be different but it will work for you!

PS, I did it this way so I could also use the idea for regular straight razors if I make the case long way up. Then I could move the magnet "L" blocks where needed for blade width. They keep the blade about a quarter inch above the back of the case.
This will be cross posted on another small forum.Last edited by Geezer; 02-03-2015 at 04:57 AM.

Thanked: 580Nice, a great display. If I was a barber, I think these would be my tool of choice. I have resisted trying one.

On one hand they look like an unfinished straight razor and on the other look very primitive and cool. I can't think of anything cooler than taking a primitive piece of steel and putting a wicked edge on it and shaving with it. Hard to mange without scales though and this appears to be the perfect solution! Well done. Where did you get the shadow box from? It is a work of art Richard.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
