I personally don't think 212 degree water or that is the point at which it boils but after taking off the heat it decreases almost immediately would hurt a razor that should be tempered at a much higher heat but like I stated, I can't really say. That being said I would use Barbercide or 70% Iso and wipe the blade with it.
I would assume if you clean your razor after each shave under hot tap water you should be okay in my estimation. You ask if I am a professional in this field???? No, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night!German blade snob!

Thanked: 96I bought the medium sized barbicide container that comes with a top and tray to hold your razor. It is fantastic for all types of instruments such as nail clippers, tweezers etc.. The tray makes it very easy to lift out and remove items. I have just enough barbicide to cover my razor blade and not the scales. I soak for 15 minutes. Every 30 days I soak my razors to keep them free of any unwanted bacteria etc.
