Thread: What is something to acquire that I have not thought of??

Hey Gents, I am looking for something I might not have or something to acquire here is what I have, 2- straights, strop, brush, mug, 3 DE's. I don't know what I am looking for or why but I am looking to treat myself to something. Any suggestions on something nice to add to my collection, maybe it is not a necessity just nice to have. Thanks ahead of time ;D

You, sir, have Undefined Addiction Disorder or UAD. Very, very rare in the shaving field. Most shavers systematically, and by nature, work through all the specific Addictions: razors, brushes, mugs or scuttles, strops, stones and soaps/creams, AS balms or colognes. To a lesser degree, DE blades, SE blades and any assorted variety of odd Addictions (old honing devices for vintage DE/SE blades.)

With extreme caution I would suggest you investigate the never ending world of soaps and creams after first setting a spending limit on yourself. There are, these days, literally hundreds of soaps and scents available. Proceed with caution.

I understand that this maybe something odd but I look at different items all the time. I have found neat old stropping/ sharpening devices and such but can never seem to pull the trigger and buy them. I have a strop that works perfectly so I can not bring myself to buy another even a different one. The mug I have I only use to soak my brush in while I shower getting it ready for lathering. The 3 soaps I have are in tubs so I really can not bring myself to buy a scuttle. Maybe soaps is the way to go, surely I can order and receive those without my wife noticing...

Good luck on your wife not noticing. They have a sixth sense that tells them that the package does not contain shoes or kitchen gadgets (or that over hyped rare cream that removes wrinkles, pounds and years.)

One trick used by pipe smokers and SR users is to purchase items that ALL have the same shape and color.

While this may somewhat limit your acquisition disorder the SWMBO may stay none the wiser.

Having said that, be aware they always figure out what you are doing.

That is a great idea, there has been a horn handle razor I like now I can get several! LOL

Look into the world of scuttles...

And practice this line, with a straight face, “This old thing? I’ve had that for, years…”

Turn-about is fair play.

To OP perhaps a finishing hone to maintain your razors and save on sending them out....
