Yes we do face lather as a matter of fact probably a bigger percentage do. And the guys who bowl, lather still are working the lather into the whiskers just as well, fact is most bowl or scuttle lather guys will generally do a better job of working it in to their face cause they are very meticulous about their prep work, they like the ritual, face lather guys just get it done. Face lathering preps the shaving area far better than bowl lathering and than just applying the lather, at least in my experience I get better results, but u need to have a decent brush not to get whisker burn from it,

Hey I,m a face lather er too, but the guys that bowl lather still apply the lather the same way we do and rub it in just as much, they just get the lather built before going to the face then rub it in, one of the reason I stopped bowl lathering is cause it's just another step. But they still apply it and swirl it in the same as me. Tc

I think I've seen those before near the cooking utensil area of walmart. I just might have to check those out as well.

Are those ceramic or plastic? I went to my wal-mart and all they had were these 4 footed light weight plastic bowls. Not stable at all.

You'll probably need a Hispanic grocery store to get ceramic or stone bowls -- metates, to give them their proper name. And they'll cost more than WalMart's plastic knock-offs.

Aha -- Amazon.com -- search for "stone salsa bowl" -- definitely not dollar-store pricing.

The plastic bowls work great. Buy two and cut out a small hole just below the rim on the outside but only go thru the outside layer. Then you can fill the bowl chamber with hot water and have a scuttle.
