Great soap bowls at the Dollar Store!
Howdy!
As I read previously on this board: THE DOLLAR STORE IS YOUR FRIEND!
I just found some great unbreakable shaving bowls with water tight screw on lids...
Ready...
Crayola® Insulated Containers (for kid-size soup in a lunch box maybe?)
A 3.25 oz / 100 g cake of shaving soap fits neatly in the bottom.
It beats the $12 I paid for a Schöne Stainless Steel Half Hemisphere (which won't contain the soap very well when traveling...)Last edited by howdydave; 07-01-2016 at 02:49 AM.

Little plastic bowl for a dollar - to use when traveling.
Someone in China may have thought this is what a raccoon looks like.
To me, it looks more like a badger. My father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.

Little salsa bowls from a dollar store work well also. Some have a slightly rough interior that help build lather.

I thought that the blue one was appropriate for my hyper-mentholated soap from Turkey:
I don't have a clue what "No BPA" means...
EDIT: Now I do... it stands for Bisphenol A (BPA).Last edited by howdydave; 07-01-2016 at 02:46 AM.

From what I remember talking to a plastics guy I knew, BPA is only going to be a problem with heat. However, to get rid of the BPA and maintain the capabilities of the plastic, they just replace it with a similar chemical that has the same issues.

Thanked: 0The salsa bowl is exactly what I use cheap, rough interior to help with lathering.

Thanked: 2Doesn't anybody create a lather on the face anymore ? I use a soap bowl to hold the soap for filling the brush than I whip up the lather on my face with a Parker silver tip badger brush, (helps to prep the skin and work in the soap to create a smoother shave )
