    Default Razor Storage

I'm curious what is used for keeping razors in between use. The options I am aware of is: 1. Box razor came in 2. leather sheath 3. sack ups razor sleeve or similar 4. I saw one that was similar to the sack ups but had silver flecks in the fabric. Other ideas?

What are the opinions? I like the idea of leather but have read that it can promote rust/tarnish of the razor.

    Many thanks!

I use a large jewelry box with the appropriate inserts in the drawers. There are also many smaller boxes available that have two or three drawers. I've also seen people use nice cases that are made for fountain pens. Here's a picture of what I have.

I keep mine in racks I made and mounted them on the wall in the bedroom. I don't store mine in the bathroom, made that mistake years ago when I first got into this hobby. Back then I kept them in the medicine cabinet and after a while noticed rust developing on them. Next I kept them in socks in my dresser drawer via a tip from a fellow SRP member. Finally I decided to build the racks and keep them on the wall away from the humidity in the bathroom. They have been hanging there for several years now and so far no rust.

I use VCI paper for storage. The ones in rotation are in my perfect roll up, that I am more than happy to tell you where I got it if you are interested. VCI paper is anti corrosion paper and I have no idea how it works just that it does, I also have some large decencant packs in my safe.

RezDog, if you would share where you picked up the perfect roll up I would appreciate it. I would like to see what it is...

I’ve been using leather for 2+ years under various climate conditions on the road. Recently my wife made me a roll up out of denim. All work very well.

A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

A few things I like about this roll up. The fabric is very heavy and very nicely sewn.
The pockets are deep and wide, the fold over flap is long enough that I am not worried about anything falling out. The liner is heavier flannel. You will never wear this thing out.
I also like the fabric colour but that is secondary to the quality of material, design and workmanship. It was made by a member here that has the screen name of greatbolo. I have no idea if they are available.

I store some of mine in plastic travel toothbrush holders. They cost something like $0.89 and have vent holes on either end. Not very classy, but they do a good job protecting the razor.
