Got this at Value Village yesterday. It’s solid stainless steel and has a grippy rubber coating on the base. Whipped up a nice TOBS Sandalwood lather using my Omega boar brush.

    $3.99 Canadian. Bargain!!

I finally got my 4' Suribachi bowl off the free-shipping slow boat from Nippon.
Might be a bit too small, but fits nicely in the palm and if Pete's description is on, the aggressive grooves should stir-up some lather in a hurry.

The wooden 'pestle' is called a Surikogi....Hum...

Will try it out on one of the many samples in my cabinet next shave!

    Did you know?

Tom, size matters. I started out with that same four inch Surabachi. Seemed too small for my hands and after one try I immediately upgraded to the 5 1/2". Just fits better in my hand and holds a lot more lather in the bowl. From Helen's Asian Kitchen on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Helen-s-Asi...72.m2749.l2649. Great addition to my shaving routine. Love it. My $.02, Austin

Just got this beautiful Georgetown scuttle today from Tom.
He was kind enough to include a snurdeler too.

Getting something like this from a friend is much more meaningful to me than anything that would have come from SWK.

Hat's off to, and many thanks Tom!

Too bad about SWK. Thanks for offering to share the info here (if you had received it) when I PM'ed you. Survived this long without a big fancy scuttle so I think I'll make it.

Very nice scuttle! With that snurdler you can load soap like a civilized person.

Keep up, Josh. That was a couple weeks ago. Ha. I know you can read, or do I need to send you another picture book.

I'm curious what you think of the bowl Tom.

Yes! Please share your opinions. Too small? Not enough room? Not rough enough in the bottom? Or was it the best you could imagine?

Well....TBH, I have not used it yet. I will in the morning and report.
I have also sent 5 more out to friends, so we will eventually see what they think as well.
Found a widdle NOS Rubberset in case it does not work well with my typical 24mm.
Mebbe I will get one of those cute little Omegas for it if a small brush is required!

I really just want a way to use-up some samples. Should work well, I hope.
