Thanked: 4826well There are a lot to choose from. I don’t use mine a lot but a warm shave is nice. It seems that most are around $65USD. There are some that have rigged double bowl systems for much less. Sounds like it should be on the gift list.

You could maybe post what you are looking for in the 'Wanted To Buy' section. You never know what someone has sitting around in the shave den not being used. Good luck!

+1 to the posting on WTB. Another thought is to visit a local potter... they should be able to make one for you reasonably cheap. Guy down the road from me charged me $9 for a bowl, $15 for a scuttle. Groove the inside of the bowl.

There are several threads on scuttles.
Review them to find one you like.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Two bowls of diffrent size, one inside the other and warm water in the outer one. I bet you could find what is needed at goodwill for 3 bucks if you wanted to go cheap. I spent upwards of 100 bucks for mine. But I wasnt trying to go cheap.

To be honest and open about it if a warm lather shave is what you are after then yes, a double-hulled bowl is the way to go. If you just want a bowl of suds just about anything the size of a huge coffee mug can do the deed. I found a rough interior bowl at Goodwill for under 4 bucks that do the job (I'm also a cold water shaver so warm suds does nothing for me.) There are a lot of threads on scuttles, enjoy seeing the variations.

If you want a warm shave you need a double walled scuttle. It's one of those things that once purchased will last a lifetime plus. I'd say save your pennies until you have enough to buy one. They aren't terribly expensive.
