I know that TI makes boxes to hold various numbers of razors but they are expensive. Classic has them on their site.

I did see Thiers Issard boxes...they are very nice with a nice price tag to go with it. I did find two sites that sell the burl version (with slightly different interior):

    1. Thiers-Issard Razor Box For 7 Razors Deluxe Elm Burl: Rasage Poulin Fine Wet Shaving Supplies : Calgary, Alberta, Canada

    2. Thiers Issard Empty Deluxe Elm Burl Box for 7 Razors Handmade France - Knifecenter.com

The one from Classic Shaving is nice , but I am not sure if I like the blue interior...also, since I am in CA, I will end up paying the ridiculous 9.75% tax...Ouuchhh!!

    I'll keep looking

I bought an old Gerstner machinist's tool chest like this one here (item # 150432880851) for about half of what this fellow is asking for his. Stores them safe and dry. Not a display case but very effective for storing a lot of razors safely. Keep an eye out on ebay and you may be able to get one for around a hundred bucks as I did.

    Wink

    Hi all,
I ended up purchasing the Tiers Issard Elm Burl...but not the one Henry recommended from Classic Shaving (sorry Henry...just didn't like the price and the blue interior). What I bought is the following:

    http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/st...ml?s=TILUXELM7

Did I stop there??...of course not . To add fuel to the fire
, I also added a 7/8" Thiers Issard Eagle Brand Straight Razor with Red Staminawood Handle

Hmmm...I have to start exercising some self-control, otherwise I may end up with an AD (acquisition disorder) .

    Thanks guys,
    -Robert

    Robert,

No need to apologize. Whatever floats your boat.

In fact, that's not a bad choice in str8 razor storage chests at all; and for the price it is an excellent choice imho.

The TI str8 razor you purchased is also a good choice. I've had my eye on a TI similar to it at the Knifecenter website for quite a while myself.

Just make sure that you get your new TI Eagle Brand str8 razor professionally honed before you use it.

    Congratulations...Take care--and smooth shaving.

How did you like your purchase for fit and finish? You stated in the OP that is one of the points that you were considering.

    Take Care,

Thank you Henry...I don't know about the smooth saving yet...I am working on it , but thank you for a warm thoughts.

As for the TI, they say that this Str8 is shave ready, but reading the forums, it does not seem like anyone had a TI that was shave ready (out of the box)...the description even says that it is factory sharpened.

Do you think I should automatically send in in for honing or just give it a shot before sending it in?
