Worked fantastic ran hot water over it till it was warm and the heat stayed with it for 2 lathers easy. Felt good working the lather as well. Not to small or large. I'm a happy camper
My wife is looking at me funny...

Well after 4 uses I still have not seen a spot of rust pop up and I still have great heat left over from the first lather. I haven't tried a third yet and may give that a shot next time.
I'm not sure about this but it seems the texture of the inside of the bowl helps the lather build a bit faster. It seems to need more testing

so i started using my 6 inch enameled skillet and it simply takes way too long to heat up.. wish i had an old radiator heater in my house i could set it on or something.. how long does yours take to heat up with the water? and doesn't your retain some level of the lather? i'd be concerned of mixing different scents over time.

I haven't been able to smell any left overs in the bowl. I would think the brush would hold more left overs then the bowl. Mine takes only a couple minutes, about 20-30 strops (ya ok maybe I'm not super speedy stropper ) I also think the bowl shape focuses the heat better (SWAG) than a pan would, just a guess at the moment.
