If I understand your question correct - it is because you can wet the hairs on your brush in the spout during shaving so you always have the right mix of wather in your lather.

If you buy this scuttle I`m certain you will be very satisfied, I just love it!

Looks like I just found my new scuttle! Thanks, because I have been looking for a great manufacturer for what feel like an eternity. no more coffee cup for me!

I did something similar in reading up on all the various scuttles and I came to the same conclusion - it's the one I want!

I also like the little soap dishes he does on his website and the ability to mix and match.

It's all part of his system for storing and using soap. I haven't used them but I have a scuttle and its a top performer.

I've been looking into getting a scuttle but I want one big enough to make lather in and have heard the most are not so. Surely this one is large enough.....????right
