Thread: Period shaving music...

Occasionally, I listen to music whilst shaving. I happened upon this site Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project That digitizes music cylinders from the late 1800's to early 1900's. They've got a couple radio channels here: Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project - Cylinder Radio for those interested in increasing the authenticity of their shaving experience

I like to listen to the Carter Family, Woody Guthrie, or Django Reinhardt. Certainly not the music of a Victorian gentleman, but something that puts me in touch with with an earlier time when straight shaving was still widespread.

I listen to Mendelssohn, Mozart, Grieg or Bach, usually for my Sunday shave.

I've been listening to Louis Jordan lately.

Yes... much safer than shaving listening to King Crimson while high on LSD!

As nice as the idea of shaving music seems to be, to be honest I rather enjoy the simplicity of shaving alone with that comforting sound of blade-on-whiskers that we all love. I find it a calming element that adds to my zen moment.

Johann Strauss Jr. The King of the Waltz for most my shaves. The tempo keeps my movements and attention in a timed and synced manner I feel. I do although avoid Wiener Blut whilst shaving.

Thanks ever so much for this link. I can use it to teach students in my classes.

I set the I-tunes radio to either classic,blues or cajun zydeco/cajun waltzes and of course,true to my handle,I shave at night with the blade,low music and crickets ahhhhh.
