    Default Another Dirty Bird Scuttle

Well I see that there is other dirty bird scuttlers around. I don't want to take from there glory but wanted to post about mine as well. So here it is.

I just received it in the mail yesterday, a late Christmas present. Note to all, if you ever want to order one as a Christmas gift, order it early. They had a heavy order load this year and a big back log. So just order early. These things are hand made and take the extra time and love to make. As if most of you didn't already know that, mainly a heads up for the new guys.

As for which one I received, the 1.5 dirty bird. This thing is huge, much bigger than I expected. I would estimate twice to twice and a half the size of a shaving mug. I love it, its big, its bold, its beautiful. As for lathering, oh what a dream it is. It has groves made into the bowl part that grabs the soap and helps whip it up as you swirl the brush around. It rocks to say the least. Plus its keeps you lather nice and warm to boot.

I am thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this scuttle to any one. Great job Dirty Bird Pottery, great job indeed. This is one satisfied scuttle owner. Here is the pick of what one I received.

That's a great scuttle, and from the sound's it actually pretty big. Like a teapot! I think i may be making my way to that site shortly. Thanks for the heads up... now to just find a place to put it. BTW did you go with the regular ridges for lather or the web?

    Default Another Dirty Bird Scuttle

    Gentlemen:

I received my Dirty Bird 1.5 scuttle yesterday and am delighted with it.

The scuttle not only is attractive, it also offers a large enough lather bowl with ridges for creating luxurious lather. What's more, it retains heat quite well.

I have (and had) several different scuttles and the Dirty Bird surpasses them in overall quality. This is good stuff and well worth the try.

    A fine creation, Julie.

    Regards,

    Obie

No worries at all, that's what this forum is all about.

Nice DB scuttle. I'd love to have one of those some day.

I deffinatly had to clear a place for it, is like a small teapot. But it is oh so worth it. I got the one with the ridges in the boal, not the web.

I liked the color of yours, but it wasnt offered so i'm going to pick up my own with the berry on blue glaze. See what you went and did...my wife's gonna kill me. But at least i'll have a nice shave and a smile when she does.

Just a quick clarification and a thank you for all the strokes. It's very satisfying to make something that folks will use and cherish. Thanks for the opportunity.

The scuttle in the photo above is actually in the new Blue rim on spice. I think the color balance is off a bit making it look a bit green, but I sure wish I had his eye for composition. Nice pic...
