    it arrived today, haven't tried it out yet, but these are HUGE. I think it will definitely work out quite nicely. Here's mine:

    yeah, it took me back when I saw it lol. It oughta hold plenty of hot water for shaving though, and can't complain about quality either. Roughly 40 for a hand-thrown custom scuttle, that large, is not bad.

    Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know these scuttles are not hand-thrown, but slip-cast.

    you're correct. I went back to the store to verify and it states that he "pours" his own greenware. So it would be slip-cast. Either way, for a scuttle that large 40 isn't bad.

    Tried mine out this morning. I tried hot water from the tap, but our water heater needs to be turned up, so I heated the water in an old percolator coffee pot(just to where it started steaming, not boiling). After getting the water just right I whipped up some lather with TGQ Cavendish Black. Wow! Talk about nice warm lather throughout the entire shave, I almost hated to stop shaving after the third pass!
