    +1

I got 2 of his, one is very large, the other is huge. The huge one has plenty of room for my long handled brush to sit inside with the lid on, the very large can only hold the regulars. My lather is hot all the way through even if I go for a slow shave. The only downside is I must rebuild lather in between passes due to the heat-activated lather-destroying gremlins that HNSB mentioned.

What helps me with hot lather in my new DB is that I leave it completely submerged in the hottest tap water I can muster while I'm in the shower. Once I get out of the shower and get ready to shave, I pour out all the water and dry it. Then I refill the inside as it is supposed to be with the hottest water I can get out of tap again. I find the lather gets quite warm. I'm not sure if others would classify it as "hot," but I'd say it is very warm.

After i whip up some lather,i put my brush in the scuttle and put the LID on ,to keep the heat from escaping!!! And then i strop and defog the mirror with the wifes blow dryer, and when i lift the lid off that scuttle to get my brush,OOOOOOHHHHHH that cream is good and warm/hot. Scuttles without LIDS is like ****n in the wind (not good ).

never used a scuttle before - just ordered a db . its going to take 3 weeks to make it and get it to me- can't wait to try it out. used only a mug for abt 10 years. if you want to keep lather warm and beer cold, shave/drink faster.

...but not at the same time. I thought I'd have a shave a couple weekends ago after a beer or two. That was a scary 20 minutes. I'm on a strict shave first / beer later policy now.

youre guilty of swi- shaving while intoxicated. one risk is drinking your lather or shaving with beer- not advisable
