Becker Scuttle with Brush Soaker....Pics Included
Hey guys, if you haven't given any thought to one of these Becker made Scuttles with attached brush soaker you might want to consider it. I am a newbie, so I wasn't sure what kind of scuttle or which size I would wind up wanting. Well, after ordering a few different scuttles I can honestly say that this medium size scuttle with brush soaker is pretty hard to beat. It will hold 3 cups of water and because of the thin walled inner bowl it seems to keep your lather warm for a looooong time. I actually bought two of them because I wasn't sure which color I would like the best(I did that with a couple diff makers), so the one pictured below is going in the classifieds, but I really love this design.
He can make this design in a small, medium, or a large, but I found the medium to be about right. He also makes regular scuttles as well as lathering bowls, brush holders, razor holders and various other items. I would recommend Robert's Ceramic Feats of Clay to anybody looking for functional, affordable ceramic shaving gear, and no, I am not affiliated in any way with the business.
Here are a couple of pics...

Congrats, that is a nice looking scuttle! He does make nice stuff at a very fair price. FYI, you might want to remove the part mentioning the one for sale in the classifieds, it is against forum policy. Good luck with the sale though!

Thanked: 993That is a great looking scuttle. I too have a Becker, though mine is the large version. It performs very well too. The ONLY drawback of mine is that is has straight sides in the lathering bowl, which makes it very difficult. It seems he's rectified this, because the ones I've seen on here as of late have had a round bowl.
Great pics!

Thanked: 270I got one like it and found the brush soaking area invaluable. In fact, it became such a great thing that I let go of a couple of the leading brands that did not have this feature. I have sent pictures of mine and recommended it to many people.

Thanked: 52I bought a small Becker a month ago. It's great. It came with a lid too and was less than 20 bucks with shipping. Top quality. I love the hot lather.

I have the large version and really love using it. My favorite soap to use warm is Ogalalla Bay Rum, the heat really makes the aroma pop.
